The Federal Railroad Administration’s Train Horn Rule, issued in 2006, established a required routine for the sounding of locomotive horns around public crossings as a safety precaution. At the same time, FRA created a process for communities to designate quiet zones by meeting certain safety requirements.

Join GoRail and the National League of Cities on Thursday, February 13 at 1:00 PM ET for an informative webinar exploring railroad quiet zones. Learn from expert panelists about quiet zones and their safety implications, the process of establishing one, and hear insights from a city and its partner railroad on the successful implementation of a quiet zone.

City and county officials looking to enhance community safety and livability are encouraged to attend.
