Converting to an employee ownership model can be a viable exit option, growth strategy or path to stabilization during difficult times. Yet, many economic development offices across the nation are not equipped with the tools to utilize employee ownership as a business retention strategy.
Join the National League of Cities and the Democracy at Work Institute to learn about New York City’s Owner to Owners initiative. The Owner to Owners initiative, an outreach and capacity-building campaign, helps business owners explore the option of selling their company to their employees at a fair market price while preserving jobs and sustaining wealth.
Participants will leave the webinar having learned:
- How to use existing resources to support rapidly changing small business needs, and build capacity to support shared small business ownership
- How employee ownership can save and serve businesses on the verge of closing during an emergency
- How employee ownership outreach and education can be expended across an entire city and target minority-owned businesses lacking support services
