Local governments that do not have Lead Hazard Reduction grants from HUD’s Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes are invited to participate in an upcoming webinar highlighting the HUD Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes’ Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Notice of Funding Opportunity (LHRCB NOFO) and application requirements, co-hosted by the National Leagues of Cities Institute for Youth, Education, and Families:
HUD’s Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Program will prepare communities to apply for future rounds of full lead hazard grant program funding by initially building capacity, while focusing on developing the infrastructure to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in privately-owned rental or owner-occupied housing.
The capacity building grant is for jurisdictions wanting to establish a lead hazard control program! The capacity building grant focus areas include:
- Training staff and contractors;
- Building partnerships and local coalitions;
- Identifying, assessing potential target areas;
- Developing and implementing outreach marketing; and
- Developing program data sharing for referrals
