Do you have an idea that could improve the economic mobility of residents in your municipality? Do you want funding to extend and expand the work you’re doing in your community? The Equitable Economic Mobility Initiative 2025 Rapid Grant would be a great opportunity for you! This unique six-month rapid grant cohort will award up to $20,000 to 12 municipalities across the country. Selected municipalities will also receive expert coaching, training in economic mobility resources and peer learning opportunities!
Municipalities that apply for the rapid grant opportunity should demonstrate that their efforts are focused on one of the following areas:
- Creating quality employment opportunities for residents;
- Support to strengthen or start small businesses; or
- Helping residents connect with government-sponsored residential services or public benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Child Tax Credit (CTC), Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), or free tax preparation services.
What to Expect
The information session is designed to provide an overview of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the 2025 Advancing Economic Mobility Rapid Grant cohort. During the session, NLC staff will:
- Walk through the application process
- Highlight key requirements on the application
- Showcase the rapid grant timeline
- Answer questions on the grant
- Share some areas that can help your application stand out

- RFP Closes: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
- Cohort Begins: June 2025
