This is the third session of a three-part learning series on summer youth employment programs presented by the NLC, the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), and National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC).
In this session, CLASP and the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions will present the results of a fall 2020 national survey of local leaders who oversee and operate summer jobs programs and release a joint report documenting these findings. Grounded in the facts of what happened last year and what we already know about SYEP, presenters will recommend directions for policymakers, systems leaders and funders.
With youth unemployment at brutal levels, schools in a second year of disruption, and racial inequities growing sharper, now is the time for intentional investments in summer jobs programs alongside career pathways and other education and training opportunities.
