Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Initiative
The National League of Cities offers tailored coaching to a cohort of cities as part of its Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Initiative. Through technical assistance, city leaders identify the impacts of institutional racism within their community’s policies and practices, and take action to address it. Each city receives tailored coaching to build relationships with communities most impacted by racial inequity, create structures that intentionally address structural racism and normalize the dialogue of governing for racial equity
Participants meet with NLC three times for a cross-site convening, site visits and a mayors leadership academy. In addition to in- person meetings, city staff have access to REAL team members on coaching calls and webinars throughout the initiative.
