The Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy won first place in the under 50,001 – 200,000 category of the City Cultural Diversity Awards.
The Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy is a premier leadership program that provides teens with mentorship, job readiness training, financial literacy education and summer employment. This is an innovative eight-week program that provides two-weeks of job readiness training provided by the City of Tallahassee, that includes leadership training, career training, customer service training, financial literacy and education, and college campus enrichment. Eligible youth continue with six-weeks of employment opportunities to work a minimum of 20 hours weekly in a paid position. Employment is offered through the City of Tallahassee, or private organizations in the Tallahassee area.
