Advancing Economic Resilience and Equity: Progress, Successes and Lessons from the Southern Cities Economic Inclusion Initiative

Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, economic downturns and longstanding systemic racial injustices, cities in the South have demonstrated remarkable resilience through their efforts as part of NLC’s Southern Cities Economic Inclusion (SCEI) initiative. The initiative was launched in 2021 with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
