Middle mile broadband infrastructure is a critical and often-overlooked component of local efforts to close the digital divide, but local leaders have a unique opportunity to leverage new sources of federal funding and increased interest from utilities and cooperatives to get high-bandwidth broadband infrastructure closer to residents and businesses.
