In an interview, Ferndale, MI’s Human Resources Director Dan Jacey proudly claimed the city became the first local government in Michigan to adopt an inclusive paid parental leave policy for municipal staff in 2016. Ferndale’s policy provides up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave with full salary to full-time employees.
