NLC and The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) held a joint briefing to hear from city leaders about the imperative of investing in workforce development programming to support local economic recovery. Learn about workforce investments through the American Rescue Plan Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and local tax levy funding to meet the increasing workforce challenges in cities, towns and villages across the country. As local leaders strive to address their workforce needs, they also call on Congress to bring forward the reauthorization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to support local economic recovery by meeting local labor market needs
