The Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is set to create good-paying, union jobs that will add around two million jobs per year over the course of the decade, while accelerating America’s path to full employment and increasing labor force participation.
The legislation consists of the largest federal investment in public transit ever, and the largest federal investment in broadband infrastructure. It also provides funding for local water infrastructure projects and lead pipe replacement, and it helps tackle the climate crisis by making the largest investment in clean energy transmission and electric vehicle infrastructure in history. What does this mean for infrastructure in cities? Hear how mayors are going to put these dollars to work in their communities.
Participants included:
- Mayor David Holt, city of Oklahoma City
- Mayor Steve Williams, city of Huntington
- Mayor Steve Benjamin, city of Columbia
